Born: Mar 1855, St George Hanover Square, London 1
Census: 1871, 46 Blackman Street, St Mary Newington, London, Surrey 2
Occupation: Bricklayer Appretice, 1871
Occupation: Bookbinder, 1881
Census: 1881, 46 Blackman St, Newington, Surrey 3
Father: Samuel Bidlake Johnson
Mother: Sarah Good Harris
Notes:
can not find him in the 1981 census Samuel was baptised at the age of 8 or 9 months old as "Samuel Richard Harris Johnson" - his middle names being his grandfather Harris's name. He was probably born in Pimlico, as that is where his mother died, but his father lived in Paddington, so there was confusion in Samuel's mind about where he was born, I think. It is quite sad to think that Samuel, being deaf and dumb, could not hear any music - this must have been a disappointment to his father, he being a musical instrument maker by trade. Even when he grew up he seems to have lived with his maternal relatives, not his father (as he died in 1862).

Notes:
Julie Weir said the Kellers - they were diamond merchants in Hatton Garden, originally from Germany. My grandmother seemed to have lived with Julia and Albert - maybe because Horace was going quietly insane!! I think she lived a high life with them and mixed with society at balls in France, etc., where she learnt to play the piano, gaining dipolma's. The Kellers were always being presented to the then Prince of Wales according to the Times archives. Anyway Leopold, who was Alberts father, was involved in the Great Diamond Hoax of 1872. http://www.smithsonianmag.com/history-archaeology/The_Great_Diamond_Hoax_of_1872.html?c=y&page=2. Leopold's grandson Roderick Leopold (Births Mar 1893 Chertsey 2a 35) was a Captain in the Royal Flying Corps and after downing a few Germans in WW1 he managed to crash his 'plane headfirst near Barnet. He is buried in Shenley.
