Lady Maud Wills is thought to be a direct legitimate descendant of the Jacobite George Seton, 5th Earl of Winton (c1678-1749), who escaped from the Tower of London and who later died in Rome at the court of the Young Pretender on 19 December 1749.

todo feb 2012 I do not think she married Wragg - census data does not tie up http://members.cox.net/ggthomp/jameswragg1830.html has... Mary was born on 3 May 1823, the daughter of James Winton and Fanny Hughes. She later used the name Maria and Maire de Winton and stated on the 1881 census she was born in France. There was no birth recorded in the Bonningue civic documents so presumably she was not born there. Later in the 1901 census she gives Higley, Salop as her birthplace. There appears to be no such named place, so I assume the correct place-name is Hughley. 1851 census has possible DE WINTON, Maria Governess Unmarried F 29 1822 Governess France at Arle House, Cheltenham HO107/1973/564/P 19
