Mary SMERDON, of the parish of Ashburton, spinster, married painter and glazier Richard HARRIS, a bachelor also of the same parish, by banns at Ashburton parish church on 15th November, 1804, when she was aged 17 years old, five months before their oldest child Mary Ann was born. Johnson who was born in Pimlico or Paddington, London in abt 1855, and who was deaf and dumb from early childhood.
