Design - Phase 1 - Revision 1
I'll have a removable key, which can be placed in one of 3 (blue) holes to wind up the clock. I'm not sure how easy it is to wind up 3 lbs, but hopefully a 16:8 set of gears will manage it.
The spacers on the other arbors need adjusting, but this was very simple as everything is modular.
.Thinking about the key, in place of a cord to wind up the clock, maybe a bad idea. Certainly friction will be reduced, but it is much easier to pull down a wee weight through 4 feet, then to wind a clock by hand. So I might revert the revision! It also depends on how quickly one can pull on the ratchet - I'll just have to suck it and see.
I wonder if the two Flags should be on separate elements to aid adjustment. I assume the position of these Flags is critical to get the best beat from the folio.
