To complete this image, I wanted to add some detail to the hills and a bit of glow.

I took the final Lab rendering as my starting point
 
and applied a very heavy UnSharp Mask (rgbSuperSharp 500-1+50-20 of my actions), which gave this horrible image
 
I then duplicated this layer and set the Blend mode of the new instance to Lighten, and set the original one to Darken.

This allowed me to finely adjust the light and dark sharpening halos individually


 
Finally I applied my Misty Blur action
a little different from the original!

 


 
The layer palette looked like this - just 3 actions and setting the opacity of the layers. with the Misty layer's opacity set to 31% - I did not alter the sub-layers within it, just accepted the action's defaults

the Lighten SuperSharp layer to 20%

the Darken SuperSharp layer to 34%
